  • In your PANCREAS, there are endocrine cell clusters called Islets of Langerhans

    • ​it has alpha and beta cells

    • it makes the hormones: INSULIN + GLUCAGON

When Blood Glucose is HIGH....

  • Beta cells release INSULIN into blood

  • liver converts glucose into storage form which is glycogen

  • this makes the body cells permeable to glucose

  • Alpha cells release GLUCAGON into blood

  • liver converts the storage, glycogen into usuable stuff, glucose
