Homeostasis is

The process of maintaining a constant internal environment despite the external changes

This means your body doesn't care if it's -30 outside, it is still gonna do everything it can to be at 37 degrees

It does this by the FEEDBACK LOOP......

Stimulus is the environmental change

Sensor senses this change

Integrator compares the current condition with the ideal condition (the control centre, a.k.a your brain)

Effector is the system returning the system to the desired point

Response Is the effector's action: the system returned to the desired point

EXAMPLES

It's cold outside and your body temperature decreases to 36 degrees (sensor triggers this message to the brain) Your brain turns on the heating system.  Your skin vessels constrict, you shiver, and there is less blood flow.  Your body temperature now increases to 37 degrees.
